Our Team
Lindsey Van Ramshorst - Co -Founder and Studio Director
With a career spanning more than 15 years in Pilates and movement education, Lindsey brings a depth of knowledge and experience to every session. She earned her BASI Pilates certification in 2009 under the mentorship of Karen Clippinger and has continued to expand her expertise through years of teaching and working with diverse populations across California, Virginia, and New York City. Most recently, Lindsey spent five years as a Master Trainer for Club Pilates, where she focused on instructor education, development, and maintaining high standards of teaching.
A lifelong dancer, Lindsey’s connection to movement began at an early age and continued through college and her pursuit of dance in New York City. Her background has given her an intuitive understanding of alignment, precision, strength, and the artistry of movement. She has had the privilege of working with dancers across generations, from young developing dancers to professional performers.
After experiencing and recovering from injuries throughout her dance career, Lindsey developed a deeper appreciation for the complexity of the human body and became deeply intrigued by the way it moves, adapts, and recovers. This experience continues to shape her approach to Pilates, with an emphasis on mindful movement, strength, body awareness, and longevity.
Beyond movement, Lindsey is passionate about creating meaningful community. As a mother of two boys, she appreciates the importance of finding balance and making movement a lasting part of everyday life. She brings warmth, positive energy, and genuine connection to every session, creating an environment where clients feel both challenged and supported.
For Lindsey, Pilates is not simply about how you move—it’s about how you feel, how you connect to your body, and how you carry that strength beyond the studio.

When she’s not working behind the scenes at Elevate, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons, supporting the arts, and finding ways to bring people together through movement and community.

Melissa Evans
Melissa has been teaching Pilates for 10 years. After nearly 30 years working a desk job in the corporate world, she found herself out of shape, weak, stiff, and struggling with poor posture. When she was laid off and wondering what she would do next, her husband took her to a Pilates class—ironically taught by Lindsey Van Ramshorst!
After trying many forms of exercise that either felt boring or led to injury, Melissa quickly fell in love with Pilates. She became a certified Pilates instructor and turned her passion into a new career. Today, she feels stronger, more flexible, energetic, healthy, and happy than ever.
Melissa is passionate about helping others discover the transformative benefits of Pilates and improve their strength, fitness, well-being, and quality of life
